And by the way, the “darkness” of this film is all because its filmed mostly at night or in dimly lit environments. The film is dark and creepy, but that’s all the movie has. Most hour-and-a-half long movies I watch go by rather quickly (which is why if I want to watch something “quick” I usually watch movies of that length) this one did not. It’s 1 hour and 31 minutes but it feels a lot longer. The predictable factor completely eliminates the scary factor, meaning that there’s no room for anything to be scary because everything the protagonists do is extremely predictable by horror movie standards. There’s people in a library, lights go out, Slenderman appears and no one fucking says anything? Like everyone just vanishes? And then the lights come back on and some lady comes out of nowhere? What? (spoiler alert sort of) Some of the scenes made no sense and didn’t have any logical continuity. However, a line from the film is: “Some he haunts, some he drives mad, and some he takes.” …So what you’re trying to say is Slenderman can’t make up his fucking mind then. I still don’t know what Slenderman even does. There’s really unnecessary and bad abstract Jacob’s Ladder/ Requiem For A Dream/ Saw-like sequences that contribute absolutely nothing to whatever plot this film has.The whole “the call is coming from inside the house!” trope has been done before by When A Stranger Calls and its 2006 remake. We literally have no idea what the name of the high school is.We literally have no idea where this film takes place.Jump scares aren’t inherently scary and they don’t magically make a film scary. The acting by the protagonists in general isn’t too good, and was highly formulaic and repetitive. The film uses many many horror film cliches and utilizes them horribly.By the way, we never get any evidence for that claim. None of these characters have any interesting character traits except for the fact that one apparently runs track. These characters are probably some of the most uninteresting, flat, one-dimensional characters that I’ve seen in any film ever. There’s tons of films out there where high school kids do stupid shit that then gets out of control. The whole “high school girls doing dumb shit at sleepovers” trope is not very interesting (at least for this movie) nor is it very creative. The protagonists made approximately zero good decisions throughout the entire film.He has a male dog that has no name that was seen in the story, "Stitches". Strength: Hobo is very durable and has an exceptional amount of strength. Regeneration: Hobo Heart has the ability to repair himself as if he loses a limb it will be reattached if held in place for an extended period of time. Tristès Aura: He emits an aura that causes anyone that gets caught in the aura to become disoriented, feel depressed or sad. He has white hair, blue eyes, and black-greyish skin. He has skeletal features on his face and body since he was made from Voodoo/Magic and the spell can only work with the markings. He didn't show any kind of rage in his murders until in the story, "Stitches", he becomes enraged at the fact C.C tried to give his literal heart back when he gave it to her.Īppearance: Hobo Heart stands at a height of 6'1 and weights 180 lbs. Personality: Hobo Heart in the first story, "Stitches" was seen as a calm, patient and very well-mannered man. If he failed to deliver the hearts, the spirits would be set free and he would have failed his purpose. The tree acted as a prison to six evil spirits, who Hobo needed to keep the spirits imprisoned by feeding the tree ten human hearts. Once harvested, he would "feed" (place the heart near the roots of the tree and the tree would consume the heart) the heart to a tree of prison. His purpose is to harvest a human heart that has been filled with sorrow and sadness. His purpose: Hobo Heart is a Gemberling, a Gemberling is a humanoid supernatural creature who serves their creator which in Hobo Heart's case.
